Crew Training

believes in the quality of seamen manning the ships are of primary importance and the continuing up graduation of knowledge through proper training plays a vital role in achieving safe and environmentally sound vessels.


On Board Training 

The On board training program is handled by the Master and chief Engineer with the help of CBT Computer Based Training, in Safety and Emergency Response, Basic Navigation and Engine Simulation , along with GMDSS familiarization, Maritime English and Safety and Cargo operation, maintenance etc by Videos. Also the visiting Superintendents carry out training sessions and seminars, to share the experiences and improve Safety awareness among all seafarers.


On Shore/Familiarization Training 

The On shore training program is a part of recruitment process and the familiarization for the existing fleet Officers and ratings. During the selection process, a PC based assessment test is conducted and decided training program to the prospective candidates. The following CBT programs are conducted at Crew Manning Office
Officer on Watch Safe passage Planning Turbo Diesel Engine simulator Maritime Communication GMDSS Maritime English Basic Computer Course VSM Planned Maintenance System in Internet based. Familiarization course VSM Company Procedures & the Vessel Safety Procedures & Emergency Response. Cargo care, operation & Commercial Knowledge

Cadets Training 

VSM has a policy for grooming the Officers from the cadet under our management and has sponsored both Deck/Engine Cadets through Marine Colleges such as AMET/Chennai in India. Our Cadets Training program include on board training and monitoring of One year for Engine Cadets (HND holders) and Two year for Deck Cadets (HND holders), by senior Officers on board vessel.


Seminars 

VSM conduct seminars regularly, inviting all Officers who are on leave to participate and view/share their experiences, as feed back from vessel is important for continuing improvement in operation of ships.
